I have seen casual wear lines for the company in a formal cocktail dress. I think they want you are looking for an elegant ". I have never been) a formal attire (dress or tuxedo. It's a boat in the bay, comfortable clothing.
Be sure to check weather reports to see if it is cold or just cool.
The wearing of the bay is quick to rule. Inside the boat is usually but not cold. They have very good food and champagne, delicious dessert is always good. The dance is optional and the DJ is pretty decent (the hours that I was).
The boat does not rock, is very slow. The view is magnificent. Expect to want to come back.
Have a good time! Hope this helped.
